Share register analysis

We identify and track the beneficial owners and institutional investors of listed entities by analysing their share registers using the disclosure provisions of the Corporations Laws of their domiciles.

Since pioneering share register analysis in Australia over 10 years ago, we have analysed more than 12,000 registers in nine jurisdictions. Our experience is unparalleled, as are the processes and beneficial ownership databases that underpin our analysis work.

Through our ShareTrak® service, we:

  • create and deliver comprehensive ownership reports at any desired frequency, and
  • offer a range of unique fund manager targeting products, including peer group and weighting analyses, that are based upon our proprietary aggregated ownership data, as well as publicly available data.

Institutional proxy campaigns

With most institutions holding shares through custodians, it is impossible to tell from custodian lodgments of their aggregate proxies just prior to proxy deadlines, whether or how institutions vote.

Our VoteTrak® service:

  • identifies the underlying institutions who have voted,
  • maximises proxy returns to dilute the impact of any shareholder negativity and
  • leverages our knowledge of institutional investors and our extensive relationships with custodians, to provide significantly increased transparency and predictability to the voting process.

We provide the intelligence to eliminate uncertainty and proactively manage any risk, thus maximising the likelihood of achieving successful outcomes for meeting resolutions.

Minimising the risk of raising capital

A unique end-to-end solution for managing pro-rata accelerated entitlement offers that minimises the significant transaction risks of these capital raising mechanisms, to investment banks and their corporate clients.

Takeover acceptance tracking

Providing critical, real-time intelligence during transactions as to the identity of institutions that have or have not accepted a takeover offer in both the lead up to and after an offer goes unconditional, will directly influence the speed with which a transaction is concluded. Orient Capital has consistently demonstrated the significant financial benefits of its takeover acceptance tracking program, since it pioneered the process in the Australian market some 7 years ago.
